The starting point
CanadaBuys is the official source for Government of Canada tender and award notices. Use the notice and solicitation documents to identify the buyer, dates, requirements, and submission method; do not assume every tender uses the same response channel.
Match the notice, buyer, and reference number
Search the official tender listings and read the notice alongside its documents. Record the reference number so you can find the same procurement again if its title changes or you encounter a search link instead of a direct document.
If a Leeds record links to an official search, use the displayed source reference to locate the matching notice. Confirm the buyer and closing date before relying on the result.
- Check the title, organization, reference, and current notice status.
- Read amendments and buyer questions or answers where provided.
- Confirm the closing time and source timezone rather than guessing from the country.
- Keep attachments and submission instructions together in your review notes.
Follow the submission method in that opportunity
Government of Canada guidance explains that submission methods vary: some opportunities use the electronic procurement solution and others specify a different channel. Read the delivery instructions in your particular solicitation.
Check who can access your supplier account and how a final response is confirmed. Build time into your own schedule to resolve access or file-format problems. Moving a Leeds bid to Submitted is bookkeeping; it is not a submission to CanadaBuys.
Avoid an outdated supplier checklist
CanadaBuys announced on July 6, 2026 that the SRI system was decommissioned. Its current notice directs suppliers to SAP Business Network profile registration and a valid CRA business number. Use the official guidance linked below for the current process and contact its service desk for questions about your circumstances.
A supplier account does not establish that you meet a tender’s specific conditions. Check the solicitation’s eligibility, security, experience, and other mandatory requirements separately.
Turn the source into a review decision
Identify the requested deliverables, evaluation method, pricing format, and the earliest date requiring action. Keep any unpublished budget or unclear remote-work arrangement marked as unknown.
Leeds helps you organize selected source notices. Its directory is not a complete list of all Canadian public-sector procurement, and an imported record is not a reviewed qualification assessment. Check the official source whenever a decision depends on a missing field.
Common questions
Are all CanadaBuys bids submitted through the same system?
No. Follow the method specified in the opportunity. Official guidance identifies electronic procurement and other submission channels; the solicitation controls which to use.
What if Leeds only has a source search link?
Search the official site using the source reference shown on the record, then match the buyer, title, and dates. A search link does not establish that a particular result is the correct notice.
